The cry we hear from deep in our hearts comes from the wounded child within. Healing this inner child’s pain will transform negative pain.”

– Thich Nhat Hanh
No matter our circumstance, during our growing years, we have all experienced our particular traumas and pains. To protect ourselves we subconsciously tend to suppress these painful moments, and this leaves our inner child frozen. As adults, no matter how we try to suppress this wounded child, it finds ways to seek attention. Self-sabotage, neediness, dependency, feelings of abandonment or neglect, temper tantrums, aggression are just some of the ways.

To move forward with our lives and make changes in ourselves for the better, it becomes imperative that we address this frozen, scared little child. It requires us to deduce exactly when and under what circumstances was this inner child formed. When we make this discovery and focus our love and attention to resolving issues stemming from the suppression of this child we can finally move forward, happier and healthier.
